Inpatient

As part of our Inpatient Nursing, you’ll look after our patients across our inpatients wards for each of our four specialties. Here, we also employ a team of Health Care Assistants to form our full specialist teams.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) are registered nurses educated at the master’s level who have acquired expert knowledge and advanced clinical competencies. ANPs are capable of autonomous complex decision-making, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.

Heart & Vascular

The Heart & Vascular Institute is based on the top floor of the hospital and provides acute nursing care for unplanned admissions, elective post-operative patients following cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery. Nurses working in the Heart & Vascular department are supported by a multidisciplinary team to ensure the care delivered is safe and meets our rigorous standards.

Digestive Disease & Surgery

Nurses working on the Digestive Disease & Surgery floor are recognised for their ability to not only provide a high level of specialised post-operative care, but also to ensure the implementation and management of the patient care plan that minimises and prevents post-operative complications. Nurses are responsible with promoting optimal nutrition, lessening anxiety and providing the necessary education for patients about the disease process and treatment.

Orthopaedic, Plastic Surgery & Rheumatology

Nurses working in the orthopaedic unit have strong technical skills associated with the specialised devices designed for orthopaedic conditions and injuries, and they work together with patients to ensure their needs are met. Nurses are key to delivering timely information and education as a tool to facilitating the best possible patient experience.

Neurosciences Institute

Our Neurosciences Institute will offer comprehensive state-of-the-art specialist care delivered by leaders in Neurosurgery, Neurology, Spinal Surgery, and Neurorehabilitation. Nurses working here have specialised knowledge and technical skills, and together with a caring and compassionate approach, they are dedicated to working together with patients, their family and their carers, to ensure their needs are met. Nurses are key to the success of achieving individually designed care plan goals, and improving the physical, psychological, and social quality of life for all patients, facilitating the best possible patient experience in the process.
